A year ago, I was in a desperate situation. I’ve been on a journey to living a healthier lifestyle for the past six years, learned a LOT through trial and error. However, I got to a point where I was not only stuck, but going backwards. I knew I needed to make a change, and I was desperate for answers. And so, after seeing a Facebook post about the 21 Day Fix, and doing research, I found my awesome coach, Kim Danger of BeachReadyNow. I joined her team to not only work on bringing more health into my life, but to inspire others to do the same. Shakeology and 21 Day Fix WORKED. On my first round, I lost 13.8 pounds, and overall I went on to lose a total of 30+ pounds.
My journey as a Beachbody Coach started with the discount factor. Being a coach meant I got an awesome discount on Shakeology, and there were never any requirements for me to actually sell anything. But I found out that I loved the products so much that I knew my friends would love it, too. And if they loved it, too, then why not get some commission out of it?
My journey that started as a discount coach very rapidly progressed to a journey turning me into a “hobby coach” (although I didn’t know that term) and once I started learning how to build a successful business, my journey transformed to a working business coach. I thought it would just be totally awesome to be able to build a business and a career doing something I loved – helping other people get healthy. My upline went all the way up to Melanie Mitro, the #1 coach in the company, so I knew I was in perfect hands. I spent months and months pouring myself into the business, learning everything I could learn. I started this blog and realized that people loved my recipes, and it became a success! I went to the annual Team Beachbody conference in Nashville, and had a truly amazing experience with my peers and I was fully charged and ready to continue the journey of building my business.
When I returned from Nashville, I had a plan and was ready to do some conquering. Over the course of the next month I realized that to truly be successful, I had to go beyond my comfort zones again. And so, it was hard, but I pushed myself to do it anyway. However, while I was starting to gain some great momentum, I started to realize that even though I know it was okay to leave my comfort zone, I felt like I was losing myself in the process. I was doing what I loved, so why was I so stressed and so unhappy? The question was a very heavy thought, and I decided to stop what I was doing and take the time to evaluate the situation.
I’ll spare some of the details, after all, this post is 365 days in the making, and who’s got time for that? After some serious and lengthy consideration, I realized that being a Team Beachbody Business Coach was not the right path for me. It’s like being given a puzzle that you love, but the pieces aren’t fitting together the way you thought they’d fit. Being able to step back and look at the picture, you’re able to see more of what the picture is supposed to look like, and when you know what it looks like, you know how the pieces are supposed to fit together.
Over the past few months, I have been slowly working on putting my puzzle together. There were a few pieces that were already in place: I love Shakeology and the Beachbody products, so keeping my coach status only made sense. My family is my ultimate priority, and they will always come first. The rest has taken some time and reflection.
There was one other thing that I was sure of – I LOVED blogging. I loved Pinterest. Both things were introduced to me in the course of my journey last year. Kim Danger is an AWESOME resource so if you were ever interested in expanding your horizons, she is the person to reach! I took a few months to step back and figure out who I was in terms of my blog, and what it would look like without standing behind the Beachbody label. It finally all came together, and www.healthyfunmom.com was born. My mission was still the same – to help other people become healthier versions of themselves. However, I decided to narrow down my niche to people like me – busy moms wanting to be healthy – physically, mentally, spiritually.
I’m still blogging my recipes over there. I’m a foodie, and I still have a mission to make meals healthy and easy. I appreciate those who have supported me along the way. And if you’re looking for some new found recipes, I proudly give you the following:
